Ontario's Craft Brewers are driven by a passion to re-kindle and keep alive the spirit of traditional brewing. Throughout history breweries have been an integral, vital part of their communities and the beer produced has reflected the pride, passion and personality of the brewer and the community.
Brewing in small batches and strictly adhering to product quality guidelines, these artisans are able to brew traditional beers as well as create new brews with natural ingredients. The beers crafted by Ontario Craft Brewers provide a wonderful taste adventure to all who share a love for great beer.
Lagers are Canadians' favourite type of beer. Lagers are refreshing, thirst quenching, mildly aromatic and can be paired with lighter tasting foods, such as chicken or seafood. The word "lager" actually comes from the German "lagering" meaning to age beer at a very cold temperature after fermentation. There are a variety of lager styles to choose from, including pilsners, Canada's most popular brew. |
| With more than 25 enthusiastic innovative brewers working together, the Ontario Craft Brewers are committed to building their reputation as a centre of excellence for craft brewers. There are already over 100 unique brands based being crafted in Ontario by members of the Ontario Craft Brewers.
The Ontario Craft Brewers are introducing their first ever OCB "Discovery Pack". The 6-pack was developed by the OCB to educate consumers about different styles of premium craft beer and help beer lovers discover the world of Ontario's unique, regional craft beers. The first of a series, the craft beer packs will be available exclusively at more than 150 LCBO stores across Ontario by mid-November. |
