Lake Erie North Shore
& Pelee Island
Much of the early history, maritime character and commercial fishing legacy of Lake Erie is alive and well at many of the small ports and communities on the lake's north shore - Ontario's "South Coast". Nowhere is that more apparent than in Port Stanley, Erieau, Kingsville and Pelee Island. Today, Lake Erie is still very much what this region is all about - boating, beaches, fishing and cottaging - but there's so much more to see and do. |

The Lake Erie North Shore region was the earliest and most vibrant commercial wine growing area in Canada until the end of the 19th century. Today, as a Designated Viticultural Area (DVA), and with the number of wineries on the rise, Lake Erie North Shore and Pelee Island are re-establishing a reputation for producing some of the country’s best wines.
Pelee is also known for seasonal bird migrations, exceptional sportfishing (walleye, bass, perch) and the Island's annual fall & winter pheasant hunts.
